Biographical Sketch

Francesca Bogoni was born on May 22, 1997 in Desenzano del Garda, Italy. After graduating from high school, she studied Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where she completed both her bachelor’s and master’s studies. There she developed an interest in soft tissue biomechanics, particularly in the cardiovascular field. During her master’s thesis, she worked for six months in the µBIOmech Lab at Politecnico di Milano, coupling the experimental activity with the computational tools with the aim of characterizing the mechanical properties of the bovine pericardium.

Due to her deep interest in the biomechanics of soft tissues, she started a PhD at the Institute of Biomechanics under the supervision of Professor Gerhard A. Holzapfel.
