Biographical Sketch

Clarissa Holzer was born in Voitsberg, Austria in 1993. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Technical Physics from Graz University of Technology, Austria. During her Bachelor studies she started working as both a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Experimental Physics and a Student Trainee for AVL List Graz performing NVH simulations. Her focus shifted to material science during her Master studies and led to her pursuing a Master thesis at the Department of Solid State Physics. In 2019 she was awarded the WKO (Austrian Federal Economic Chamber) Research Scholarship for her research on porosity characterization of thin films executed for her thesis. Due to her strong interest on bio- and bio-based materials she started a PhD at the Institute of Biomechanics under the supervision of Professor Gerhard A. Holzapfel.
