Publications
Biographical Sketch
Selda Sherifova (Selda Sinan) was born in Bulgaria in 1988 and she moved to Turkey in 1990. After she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University in Istanbul, she started her Master’s degree in Medical Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). She completed her Master Thesis at the Institute of Biomechanics, Graz University of Technology in Austria, while she was also working as a Technical Assistant. Subsequently, she started her doctoral studies focusing on the experimental characterization of human thoracic aortas under the supervision of Professor Gerhard Holzapfel, and graduated from the PhD program with distinction in November 2019. She continues her research on the biomechanics of the aorta as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Biomechanics.
